Our house was built in about 1610. Sitting at right angles to the house is a stone building which used to be a stable and the forge for the farm. It was converted in 2004 to a holiday cottage called Gwenoldy, which means house of swallows in Welsh. Have a look at the website for Tripadvisor reviews if you are interested.
There are two bedrooms, one with a kingsized bed.
And one with twin beds.
Downstairs the sitting room has oak floors, warm rugs and a wood burning stove. It has all the mod cons too - flat screen television, wi fi and so on - but my favourite thing about it is the stove in winter and, in summer, opening the doors to let the garden inside.
I like cooking so this is a kitchen for cooks. It is as well equipped as my own. Not everyone wants to cook on holiday though and there are plenty of restaurants and pubs to choose from if all you want to do in the kitchen is make a cup of tea.
Open the kitchen door and stand on the step and this is what you see. You feel far away from the world. The ten minute drive from the A55 seems to bring you back in time to a quieter, slower way of life. I love it.
